The year kicked of really well with shows throughout the Netherlands, we already played in Almere, Lelystad, Horst en Bemmel… and there is more to come. Something to look forward to! We’ll already offer you a taste of our new album that will be coming out by the end of the year. Digna has picked up the bass guitar and Johan plays the lap-drum. Lap-drum? To find out what that is you’ll have to come out and see us.

Our album release party at Paradiso Amsterdam is on Sunday afternoon March 8. Don’t wait too long to get your tickets: they’re going fast! There are more live radio shows: On Saturday March 7, we play in Muziekcafe from 16.00, Radio 2 and that same night we’ll be at Met het Oog op Morgen, between 23.00-0.00, Radio 1. On April 5 we play in Dit is de Dag, Radio 1.

Playing in Italy, well… it was a great experience: enthusiastic audiences, inspiring clubs, invited for dinner by the owner of the club after our concert at 23:00, Bologna is worth seeing, nothing goes or is on time, great commitment to the environment, many volunteers with a great love for independent music, wanting to keep music to be a part of daily Italian life without any help of the government, playing late, heart warming responses to our music, one very cold sleeping place, definitely a poorer country than ours, but with strict rules and regulations, life starts late in the evening, eating together, drinking together, talking loud, talking much, new Jodymoon fans, bellisima!

We just signed a record-deal with the Berlin based label G-Records. They will release our album ‘The Life You Never Planned On’ in Germany, Austria and Switzerland this October. Our single ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’ will be released a few weeks before. We can’t wait to do some shows over there!

Hello everybody,
2012 is almost history. Still a few days to go and then we’ll be in 2013.
Looking back on a great Jodymoon year we felt the urge to go through some pictures of our trip to New York and the recordings of our album ‘The Life You Never Planned On’. Blame it on the time of the year… With Christmas coming you start to ponder over everything you did this past year and where it has brought you.
The song ‘The Antidote’ is pretty melancholic but in a sweet kind of way, it also evokes feelings of hope and consolation, at least we hope so. ‘An antidote to a poisoned world’: for us it’s making music, for the person in the song it’s taking photographs. We hope you have your very own antidote, or will find it in the new year.

Hi everybody,
We’ve got fantastic news: our new and fourth album’ The life you never planned on’ will be released very soon.
All upcoming shows will be cd release parties and the real official cd release party will be in Naaldwijk (NL, near The Hague) on April 26th. Naaldwijk??? we hear you cry out…. why Naaldijk? Well the reason is: we played there a few times and we really liked it, so why not Naaldwijk? Duh!
Utrecht or A’dam-Naaldwijk = 72 km= 1 hour drive. As easy as apple pie.
But before that we play the premiere at Theatre Heerlen on March 3rd. After that other theatres in the country will follow, see shows. Of course we play with violinist Wim Spaepen and cellist Marie-José Didderen.
Right…and what about the new album: … what can we say? Well we can tell you that we’re really very happy with it and that again it was an exciting beautiful musical and storytelling adventure. Have a listen here.
It would be absolutely fantastic if you would come out and see the new show. That’s why we’re on time to tell you about the dates so you can come and visit one or two or… of our concerts! Make reservations for tickets at the theatre of your choice, see shows.
We really hope to see you all to celebrate the birth of our fourth baby!!!

We’ve kept it to ourselves a little, but in between concerts we’ve been quite busy working on our 4th album. It will be released in the Spring of 2012. In three weeks from now we’ll fly to New York to work
on the album with Bryce Goggin (Antony & The Johnsons, Joan As Police Woman), just as we did last time. Needless to say we are very excited about these new overseas adventures!
Next week, October 6, we play in Zwolle in the Papenstraat theater. You’re more than welcome to come, and please spread the word.

Earlier this Month, as many of you already know, we did 4 concerts in Canada. We came back last week and we really had a fantastic time! We enjoyed playing there, we met a lot of nice people en learned a little bit more about Canada. Big big country, lots of space, extreme weather conditions, friendly people, and we have made some new fans…. so yes let’s go again but in the summer please…

We hope the new year started off as well for you as it did for us. We did some great concerts: we opened for Wende 2 times and we did a show for Eurosonic/Noorderslag@Live in your living room.
On March 3 we leave for Canada. We got an invitation for the Canadian Music Fest to come and play in Toronto. We will also play some additional shows in Montreal and London (near Toronto), looks like it is going to be an exciting trip!
Meanwhile we already have a lot of new concerts coming up this year. So keep a close look on our website when we’ll be playing in your town 🙂
Next Friday we play in the Pitboel Theatre in Sittard (NL), it’s small but nice…

We already have some nice things to look forward to next year: on January 13 we’ll play at Eurosonic Noorderslag under the flag of Live in your living room together with Mossand Awkward I to name just a few. We were also invited to perform on the Canadian Music Fest in Toronto in March, and yes we will go! We’ll be there for more than a week and do multiple shows. Other bands who are also going are Go Back To The Zoo (NL) and Drive Like Maria (BE)

We’ll be playing some shows in the last few Months of this year. We start next Sunday Oct. 17 at 15.30 in Het Witte Theater in IJmuiden (NL). Hi!
We have lots of good news, so here we go:
On April 12 our new album ‘Who are you now’ will be released. We signed a record deal with Continental Record Services (formerly known as Rounder), and we are very happy about that!! Continental has an excellent network abroad, so the cd will not only be released in the Netherlands but also in Belgium, Germany, United Kingdom and Scandinavia.
We’ll play two try outs in Maastricht and Heerlen and the official cd release party will be held in Amsterdam. Together with us on stage will be cellist Marie-José Didderen and violinist Wim Spaepen, and it’s going to be something other then else!
*In the mean time we also have a new management: Amsterdam Artist Management. (with a.o. fellow artists Wende and Nynke Laverman)

Hi everyone,
It’s been a while, so here’s a little sign of life……… we really took the time and space to work on our third album and it’s beginning to pay off! We’ve worked with producer Frank Duchêne (a.o. Hooverphonic, DAAU, Ozark Henry) in Antwerp, and we did some fantastic recordings with one of the best string quartets in the Netherlands, Matangi (from Concertgebouw to Youp van ‘t Hek). They will play a big role on the new album. Johan has immersed himself in his musical roots and invited a few members of his former brass band to record some tracks AND last but not least: we travelled to New York to work with producer Bryce Goggin (a.o. Antony and the Johnsons, Joan As Police Woman). It was a great and exciting experience, and we think the album turned out really well!

We are invited to play live on the radio show ‘LLinke soep’ on National radio 1 (NL). The show will be on air Friday, May 23, at 20.00 hrs.
We’ll play two songs and do an interview.

May 19, 2008: Radio 3FM Xnoizz
We are invited to the radio show Xnoizz on National radio 3FM.
Listeners can send in a subject per SMS text message and we will write a brand new song about that subject in one hour. We will also play one of our songs and do some talking.
The show will be on air Sunday, June 15, at 23.00 hrs.

We had a FANTASTIC evening playing live on National Radio 3FM at VPRO’s 3voor12Live!

Yesterday we had a great time in Amsterdam playing live on National radio
In Desmet live. (LLink) It must be the smallest stage in the Netherlands. Geert is playing the drums around the corner… we played four songs.
March 02, 2008: Great weekend in Amsterdam
We had a great release weekend in Amsterdam, Friday we played at Fantasio (a venue with a serious history > Pink Floyd played there somewhere in the last century :-)) very nice people, very nice atmosphere, very nice playing… Saturday was the big release on TROS Muziekcafé and we had a great time and a lovely interview with host Daniël Dekker. Highlight of the day was the fantastic release cream cake, made especially for us, by baker Henk Kruijmer from Huizen (NL), who gets the grand price for being our biggest fan!! Thanks Henk & friends. Many thanks to everyone who came out to listen & see us at the Plantage studios.
February 28, 2008: Live on National Radio 2 TROS Muziekcafé
Saturday March 1 is the official release of our new album

Partytime! On that day we appear live on National Radio 2 in TROS Muziekcafé. We’ll play 3 songs and have an interview between 16.00 and 18.00. You can listen to the radio or come to the studio in Amsterdam (De Plantage, next to main entrance Artis Zoo). Would be great if you joined us for a drink afterwards to celebrate the release.

Back from London!
We had a great time writing and recording songs for our new album and playing live. We recorded at LSS, Britannia Row, London, a studio with a serious history… Pink Floyd bought the studio in 1975 and recorded their album ‘Animals’, big parts of ‘The wall’ and much more here. Also Joy Division and many others recorded here.
